Q: What is the Arizona weather like in September?
A: It is hot and September is monsoon season, which means there may be a quick rainstorm at night to make things a little muggy. The average high during September is 99 degrees and the average low is 70 (the mean is 85 degrees). For an accurate weather forecast, visit www.weather.com. All hotel rooms and meeting rooms are air-conditioned…and as funny as it may seem, you might need a sweater.
Q: What type of clothes do I pack?
A: This weekend is all about comfort and relaxation. If it isn’t your favorite, don’t pack it! We expect to see lots of shorts and T-shirts. As you will soon discover…Arizona is very casual! Don’t forget to pack your swimsuit and cover-up for the pool.
Q: Is my family welcome to attend?
A: Although registered event attendees must be 16-years or older, feel free to bring the family along to enjoy this beautiful resort and fun amenities nearby: a western town, casino, golf course, and shopping. Unregistered guests and children are not permitted in classes, at end of day events, or at meals - unless special permission is given by event staff.
Q: I have friends who live in Arizona. Do I need to stay at the hotel?
A: Although you don’t have to stay at the hotel, we highly recommend it! The classes start early and finish late and there is so much to do in between. We think you will agree it would be much more relaxing and convenient to stay on site. After all…this is the ultimate scrapbooking indulgence. You deserve it!
Q: A group of friends is traveling together, is there a way to arrange for adjoining rooms?
A: The hotel will do its best to accommodate all requests, so be sure to mention it when make your reservation with the hotel.
Q: Can you accommodate special needs?
A: Yes, the resort is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and will do everything possible to meet your needs. Please make any special room requests at the time you place your reservations. Contact info@creativeescapeaz.com if you have any other needs during class time. Vegetarian selections will be available at all meals.
Q: What type of scrapbooking supplies will I need?
A: Pack your camera, favorite scrapbook supplies, including: paper trimmer, awl, scissors, adhesive, journaling pen, micro hole punch, screw punch or mini drill…just the basics and your favorites. Be sure to check back before the event for a complete list of item suggestions by the instructors. Remember to pack your scissors and other questionable scrapbooking supplies in your checked luggage in order to meet the FAA travel regulations. For more specific info visit, www.tsa.gov.
Q: What if I forget scrapbooking supplies?
When you run out of adhesive, need to buy the newest Heidi Swapp embellishment or want to load up on Bazzill Basics Paper -- you don’t need to go far. Scrapbooks, Etc. has set up an on-site store. Pick up cardstock, printed paper, embellishments, adhesive, albums, and other Creative Escape merchandise without ever leaving the property.
Q: Do you need volunteers?
A: No. We have already chosen local volunteers who are required to attend a two-day training session before the event.
Q: How can I contact you?
A: Because many of the Bazzill staff members telecommute, it is easiest to contact us by email. We will respond to your questions as quickly as possible. Be sure to check the blog for the newest event information: www.creativeescpeaz.com. You don’t want to miss a thing!
